What is unlocked and jailbroken?
Unlocked iPhones are unlocked so thatyou can use them on any GSM network. Just put your sim card in and you are ready to go.
Jailbroken iPhones are jailbroken, meaning that the soopenftware has been jailbroken to allow 3rd party apps that you normally don't find in the iTunes library. There is an open source installer called Cydia which allows you to download all these extra programs. There are even programs that will allow you to tether your iPhone and use it like a modem for your laptop so you can surf the web wirelessly on your laptop. You won't find that app in the iTunes store!!
Even though this iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked, you can still use it to download applications from the iTunes store. This means that you can get apps from the iTunes store and from the open source installer as well. This gives you access to twice as many applications as a regular iPhone
